Transporting and Lifting

Our Hiab lorry provided the solution for one of the more interesting lifting projects we have carried out.

Portable toilets were needed for the British Heart Foundation Tower of London Run in May this year. The only practical place for the toilets was in the Moat. Getting the toilets into the Moat was a challenge for which our Hiab truck provided the ideal answer.

The area around The Tower is very busy. It was important to create as little disruption to traffic and tourists as possible. The flexibility offered by a Hiab means we were able to lift the individual toilets from the suppliers transport trailer. We then placed them into the exact location.

We liased with the supplier and The Tower of London Authority.  This meant that  the exact arrival and offloading time could be confidently planned. Most importantly, we completed on time. We were also on and off site very quickly.

This whole job required not only skillful operation of the Hiab but also operating staff to make sure the task was completed safely.

It was a great relief for our Hiab operator, and the runners, getting the toilets ready for the Tower of London Run.
